Of all the new digital skills PR pros need to learn, measurement is perhaps the most important. Unless you know what to measure, and how to measure it, you’ll never be able to show the value of your work.
It is a numbers game. That’s what gets the attention of the C-suite. How much went in, what did you achieve and what did we get in return? The statistics execs pay attention to are the ones that show whether they are achieving their overall business goals – is the organization viable and expanding.
Measurement is the path to a bigger budget. When you can show that what you did positively impacted the bottom line, they’ll be more likely to give you more money.
Join me on the #measurepr Twitter chat this Tuesday, August 11th at 9 am Pacific/12 noon Eastern to talk about measurement in PR
Your host, as always, is the lovely Shonali Burke. Along with me there are three other guests:
Tinu Abayomi-Paul: Tinu and I have created a custom PR Measurement Dashboard in Google Analytics to help PR folk who don’t yet have mad measurement skills get started.
Nichole Kelly: Social Media Explorer who revels in metrics
Michelle Hinson: Chair of Institute for Public Relations‘s Measurement Commission, and a global authority on measurement.
Don’t miss this chat.
If you have not participated in a Twitter chat before, go to TweetChat www.tweetchat.com. Enter the hashtag #measurepr and it will ask you to log in with your Twitter account. And you’ll be ready to go!
