Panasonic steps into a blog storm

The subject of character blogging has reared its ugly head once again.

As Amy Gahran said, a character blog is not necessarily a bad thing.. it just depends how and why it is done.  And since complete transparency is the holy grail of blogging, never hide behind a character and pretend it’s a real person.

This comment Amy’s blog posts about the  Panasonic debacle pretty much says it all:

If Tosh Bilowski had simply been a pseudonym for some engineer at Panasonic who was passing on authoritative info I wouldn’t have blinked. But the guy doesn’t even exist, and Panasonic wasn’t up front about it.

Before you launch a blog take the time to really think it all  through.

A blog content strategy is vital.
