New PR technologies like blogs and RSS can increase your media coverage
A new study from Euro RSCG Magnet and Columbia University found that more than half of journalists use blogs in the course of their work, reports ClickZ.
51 percent use blogs regularly, and 28 percent rely on them to help in their day-to-day reporting duties.
Journalists mostly used blogs for finding story ideas (53 percent), researching and referencing facts (43 percent) and finding sources (36 percent).
And even though they regard the credibility of bloggers with a healthy dose of scepticism, 33 percent said they used blogs to uncover breaking news or scandals.
And this influence is set to grow – sixty-eight percent of respondents believe that corporate blogs will become a more popular tool to inform consumers in the coming year.
PR practitioners need to get their wits around these new PR technologies. Bulldog Reporter’s current PR University series is right on the money.
