Social Networks Embrace the Demand for Video

We are a visual species. 93% of communication is non -verbal. A picture is indeed worth a thousand words: our brains process image elements simultaneously. We think in pictures. Our minds react differently to visual stimuli.

Studies have shown clearly that for quick, clear communication, visuals trump text almost every time. For years it was difficult to use images and video online, but that is no longer the case. It’s easy to create great visuals and they are the quickest way to get your message across.

Social Networks Showcase Video

Facebook now has autoplay on all videos. 70% of videos on Facebook are now uploaded directly to Facebook. In April 2015 Facebook reported that its users now watch 4 billion videos on every day – up from 3 billion a day in January 2015.

If you go back five years, most of the content was text. Now a lot of it is photos, and if you look in the future as networks get better and the ability to capture good video and share it in a good way improves, then I think that going forward, a lot of the content that people share will be video. It’s just very compelling.  Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO.
Video-Posts
Twitter introduced a video feature in the smartphone app in January 2015. Now you can share a moment (or to be exact 30 seconds) on Twitter. You can record, edit and share the video immediately on your Twitter stream.  One of the best uses for this feature is to engage with your audience and reply to comments and questions.
With Twitter video, the message comes across loud and clear. Gary Vaynerchuk
Twitter also offer Promoted Video Ads. The Promoted Video is native to the Twitter platform, so there’s no link to an external video source – the video shows and plays right in the Twitter stream.
