News Search plays an important role in your Internet marketing strategy
Online news readership is still climbing sharply. The fourth quarter saw 53.6 milllion viewrs a month – up 30 percent from 41.1 the previous year. 36 percent of all Web users went to an online newspaper site. MediaPost (requires registration)
Visitors to newspapers’ Web sites are also reading more online than they were before. Average visit time is up 16 percent from 37 minutes to 42 minutes. Nielsen/NetRatings
Two reasons were suggested for these increases = the news was particularly interesting last year and Web users are more comfortable consuming news online than they were even one year ago.
I’ll go with ‘more comfortable’. We could have got that particularly interesting news anywhere. But we chose to get it online.
