Intel Leaps into New Branding Strategy

January 1, 2006 by Sally Falkow

Details to be unveiled at CES

According to an EETimes article citing Reuters, Intel plans to revamp its rebranding strategy for its new microprocessor line.  Paul Otellini, Intel’s chief executive, will unveil details of the campaign during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

The phrase "Leap ahead" will replace the "Intel Inside" branding strategy.  Yonah, Intel’s new notebook-based processor line will be marketed as Core – part of a new platform called Viiv.

Certainly, both online branding and offline branding tactics need to raise public awareness.  With these naming conventions, it seems that Intel believes they need to simulate the computer gaming market to do so.
