What used to be found in letters to the editor is a more vibrant conversation in blog comments
The Washington Post’s deal with Technorati that helps Post readers find blogs that reference or comment on Post stories, is a strong acknowledgement of the conversation on the Internet.
What before could only be said in a letter to an editor (if it was printed at all) is now being discussed in a mutitude of blogs.
The people have a voice and it’s in full cry in the blogosphere.
We don’t have to wait for an editor to print our opinion. We blog about their stories. Others comment on our comments. The conversation has moved. The news audience is alive and well, and it’s talking back.
As a first step in blog and RSS PR strategy, monitoring this conversation is vital. If you’re not yet using RSS feeds to at least listen to the conversation, get a feed reader and start.
